VINTAGE ILLUSTRATIVE DESIGN
Growing up, Samuel Johnson watched as his dad and grandfather created masterful hand-painted signs, and ornate pinstriping on classic cars and antiques. He was also captivated by hand-drawn and stop-motion animation, and attempted to replicate them with his toys on the home video camcorder.
He has worked in both physical and digital art as a designer, illustrator, painter, motion graphics animator, video editor, campaign strategist, social media marketer, and an assistant in his father’s sign painting business, which has helped him develop an acute attention to detail and antique sensibilities. He aspires to always grow and to learn new skills.
EDUCATION
During High School, Sam earned an Animation Certificate, a Graphic Software Applications Certificate, and an Associate of Arts through Aims Community College in Loveland, and through Front Range Community College in Fort Collins. He graduated in May 2026 from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design and Studio Art, and a Digital Marketing Certificate.
